| Main Facilities and Sites for the Events |
| "Shiawase no Mura" (Village for Happiness) which is located
in the suburb area of Kobe City (15 km north of downtown) will be the sites
for Tennis, Lawn Bowling and Road Race. They have a sub-track for warm-up,
training gym, indoor heated swimming pool, plaza for many activities you
can share with Kobe citizens and hot spring spa. And also there are 9 different
restaurants. Shuttle bus transportation systems will be provided everyday
from your hotels in downtown and also you can take public transportation
systems. Table Tennis and badminton will take place at "Green Arena Kobe"
which is closed to "Universiade Memorial Stadium". |

| "Port Island Sports Center" is for the swimming events,
where the main (indoor) pool was used for THE UNIVERSIADE KOBE '85 and it
is very close to one of the main hotels in Kobe, the "Portopia Hotel" (5
min. walk). |

| "Universiade Memorial Stadium" is for the track & field
events and for the closing ceremony, which was also used for THE UNIVERSIADE
KOBE '85 and has the most beautiful/well treated Lawns in Japan, and it's
seating capacity is over 50,000. This stadium is located in the suburbs
of Kobe, 10 Km from downtown Kobe, and a shuttle bus transportation system
will be provided. Also, you can take mass transit systems (subway) from
the city area to the stadium within ten minutes. |

"Accommodation and Hotels" "Portopia Hotel", which is one
of the main hotels, and other hotels such as "Hotel Okura Kobe", "Kobe New
Ohtani Hotel" and others are recognized as five star hotels in the Kobe
area. And most of them have good public transportation accessibility and
you can take any public transportation system very easily from your hotel.
"Gala Party" The Gala Party on the last day will take place at the banquet
room with capacity of 2,500 people in the Portopia Hotel.. |
