Q: |
We cannot send out the information
until the specific schedules of sports programs and age categories
are final, because athletes cannot select the sports they wish to
take part in. |
|
Q |
: Although the badminton will be
organized for 2 days, we suggest that the best of three games to 15
points be played in eliminates, too not just in semi-finals and finals. |
|
A : |
Once competitors send us registration
forms with clear indication of their age and the games they want to
compete, and the LOC receives such information from all participants
by the end of April, we will be able to know how many competitors
will be participating in which games in which age categories, etc.
At that time, we will be able to organize the final schedules. Once
we finalize the schedules based on the registration forms of all participants,
we will let you know. We therefore encourage you to register with
us with the information of your possible participants by the end of
April anyway. |
| 2. |
Q |
These three games of Badminton,
tennis, table tennis are scheduled to be held over two days. We recommend
that singles be played on one day and doubles on the other. |
|
A : |
OK. We arranged them as you recommended.
Singles will be played on one day and doubles on the other. |
| 3. |
Q |
Let us know how to participate
in games such as Tennis Doubles when the team is too small to find
partners in the same age groups. |
|
A |
You can participate with partner
of another category competitors in the younger age group. If you are
20 years old and your partner is 50, you are to be categorized in
Adult (18-34 years old). But, you cannot play doubles with someone
from another country.

| Facilities |
| 1 |
Q |
: Training Days - the Schedule
of Event shows a training day before the events - will it possible
to get the use of training facilities on other days ? |
|
A |
Yes, it will be possible if the
competitors those who wish to train on the other day pay charges/costs
incurred such as special transportation services, facilities usage
charges, etc. by themselves. However, we cannot guarantee whether
they can use the same sporting venue and facility. (in the past WTG,
those cases did not happen. We could not see any instructions on the
previous WTGs' registration forms.) |
| 2 |
Q |
What means of communication will
there be for participants?
Will there be an e-mail facility available ?
Will there be a press center ? |
|
A |
As for means of communication between
participants and LOC, we are going to have a press center, but now,
we are not considering e-mail facilities. |
| 3 |
Q |
Please tell us about emergency
cover facilities and translation staff precisely. |
|
A |
We are going to put two doctors
and three or four nurses at each venue. One doctor specializes in
transplant and the other in emergency treatment. All of the doctors
specializing in transplant have experiences of medical training overseas
and speak English very well. And we are going to employ more than
ten professional translators and interpreters per day. Each of them
is very competent. On top of that, we now have way over 200 language
volunteers who are very good at translating and interpreting . We
will hold several workshops for them at which time we explain the
specific tasks during the Games to them. We are well prepared for
them. |

|
| Accommodations |
| 1 |
Q |
On the forms for accommodation,
it says that for extra days (before or after the Games) , "triple,
double or single room are available for a cost (includes breakfast)".
Is this the price per room or per person in the room ? |
|
A |
The cost of accommodation for extra
days is the price per person. Please understand the different system
of the accommodation between western countries and Japan. |
| |
|
|
| Registration Form |
| 1 |
Q |
Please fax over a copy of registration
form and estimated expenses incur per participant. |
|
A |
We LOC now have such a tight schedule
that we cannot estimate expenses incurring per participant. We are
very sorry, but we would like you to do it for yourself. |
| 2 |
Q |
Do you need to have the final number
of participants by the 30th April ? Or can a country add to that number
if they get more money? Or is it better for a country to give you
the number of participants they hope will be able to attend, and then
withdraw some of them if necessary? |
|
A |
We need to have the number of participants
by the 30th April . So, we want a country to give us the number of
participants they hope will be attending. If participants don't take
part in the Games, they can cancel their registrations with no cancellation
fee involved if LOC is informed of by August 3rdFor details, please
see the brochure for team manager which we sent with registration
form, Page 2, 6. Cancellation Fee. |
